Partnership may matter more than direct competition The strongest position may be to operate as an extension of established facilities rather than trying to reproduce their entire service range. That means being technically compatible, predictable under pressure and easy to bring into a project. Practical details matter: matching session templates, following naming and routing conventions, maintaining secure transfers, communicating progress clearly and delivering material that can enter the next stage without repair. Facilities may also need specialists who can work on site when necessary while completing preparatory or overflow work remotely. This hybrid relationship combines the scalability of freelance supply with the oversight of a larger operation. A changing geography and business model Soho remains an important centre for UK post-production, but it is no longer the only viable base. Regional facilities and remote teams can now participate in projects that once required every contributor to be physically close to the final mix.
